Ronald F. Howard


Ronald F. Howard, 78, of Mercer, passed away suddenly at his residence at 2:25 p.m. Saturday (May 25, 2019) after an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Tarentum, Pa., on Oct. 12, 1940, to Thomas C. and Beulah Nolsheim Howard.
Ron attended the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy. He was a drug investigator for the state of Pennsylvania, retiring after 25 years of service.
Ron was a commissioned officer of the U.S. Public Health Service and his last detail was to the Coast Guard.
Ron was an avid antique collector. He was of the Protestant faith.
Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara Kennedy Howard, whom he married on June 30, 1962. He is also survived by: his two children, Ronald F. Howard II of Grove City, and Christyan K. (Christopher J.) Allan of Grove City; as well as four grandsons, Ronald F. Howard III, Matthew C. Howard, Nathaniel J. Allan, and Aiden J. Allan.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas P. Howard.

Service: Private family service will be at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, with Rev. Willard Morse officiating.
Burial: Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.

Barb & family, I'm so sorry to hear about Ron's passing. He was a good man! I recall working with him at Miller's Pharmacy he had a great sense of humor and everytime I saw him out and about he always had a smile, a friendly handshake and kind words. I always enjoyed bumping into you together. May the Lord give you comfort in your time of great loss!

Chrys, Ronnie, and Mrs. Howard, please know that I am praying for you during this difficult time. Mr. Howard had the biggest smile for everyone he met! May you find comfort knowing that the friendship, laughter, and kindness he shared is truly cherished.

We were shocked to hear of Ron's passing. We looked forward to his weekly attendance at our AUCTIONS and his visits during the week. To Barb, our hearts are breaking for you. He will be missed. MUCH LOVE to you.
