David J. Dunwoody, 80, of Grove City, formerly of Harrisville, passed on Thursday morning (Sept. 5, 2019) following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
David was born on July 29, 1939, in Grove City, to James C. and Charlotte A. (Dunlap) Dunwoody. He married Edith E. Kristyak on Nov. 7, 1959.
He was a graduate of Harrisville High School in 1957 and served in the National Guard for 10 years.
David retired in 2004 from Interstate Chemical Company, where he was a truck driver. He previously worked for the former Ivex Corp. and Cooper Bessemer, both of Grove City.
He was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren playing baseball and softball.
Survivors include his wife, Edith, at home; a daughter, Sandra Herald; two sons, Richard Dunwoody and wife Alice, and David "Scott" Dunwoody and wife Amy; six grandchildren, Devin Dunwoody and wife Vanessa, Dylan Dunwoody, David Dunwoody, Garrett Herald and wife Laurel, Gavin Herald and Gabrielle Herald; two great-grandchildren, Teagan Dunwoody and Amelia Herald; and a sister, Edna Covert and husband Lynn.
His parents; a sister, Norma Redfoot; a half-sister, Darlene Texter; a step-sister, Becky Fisher; a half-brother, Richard Dunwoody; and a nephew, Randy Fisher, preceded David in death.
