Clara Edith Breese, of Grove City, passed on Tuesday morning (Aug. 20, 2019) in Orchard Manor, where she was a resident for the past six years.
Known to her family and friends as "Edith," she recently celebrated her 100th birthday this past June. Edith was born June 20, 1919, in Harrisville, to Frank A. and Bernice (Book) Bennett.
She married John P. Breese on Jan. 6, 1944; he preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1995.
Edith was a homemaker and a longtime member of Scotch Hill Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon.
During her younger years, Edith worked as a typesetter for the Grove City Reporter Herald, now the Allied News. Later she was a private housekeeper for several local families and worked well into her early 80s.
She is survived by: two daughters, Donna L. Anderson, Jackson Center, and Sandra K. Lott, Grove City; seven grandchildren, Michael E. Anderson, Steven A. Anderson-McLean, Brady Jo Breese, Matthew D. Anderson, Jacob "Jake" Breese, Kari Ann Young and Jesse O. Lott; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: two sons, Robert J. and John W. Breese; a grandson, Daniel H. Lott; a great-grandson, Sawyer O. Lott; five sisters, Hilda Pizor, Jean Long, Theda McMurdy, Edna Montgomery and Donna Lee; and two brothers, James and Norman Bennett.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (8-22-19) at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, INC., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday (8-23-19) at the funeral home, with Rev. Evelyn Beebe officiating.
Burial: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
