Brent Lee McCoy, 37, of Grove City, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday (May 14, 2019.)
He was born on Dec. 16, 1981, in Greenville to Rhonda Surrena and Robert McCoy. Born three months premature, he was his momma's miracle baby.
He grew up with a passion for hunting and was an active sportsman. Later in life, he specialized in concrete work and had a knack for colorful designs and details.
He married the love of his life, Kristen Shoaff, on Feb. 20, 2016; she survives at home.
Brent was a man with heart. He loved big, and he lived fully. He wasn't afraid to let his passion drive him. He loved his family with everything he had. His family will always remember him as a man with a fire in his heart, and the generosity to match.
In addition to his wife Kristen, Brent is survived by: his parents, Rhonda Smith, Grove City, and Robert McCoy and wife Nancy, Volant; his sisters, Amanda McCoy, Grove City, and Aubri McCoy, Volant; his grandparents, Joanne Surrena and Lee and Charlotte McCoy, all of Grove City; in-laws, Daniel and Renee Shoaff, Harlansburg; and his beloved dogs Simon and Sophie. Several, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family member also survive.
He was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Richard "Dick" Surrena; his brother, Derek Coryea; and his aunts, Shelley Surrena and Bonnie (McCoy) Catalfamo.
Memorials may be made to Grove City Community Food Pantry, 114 S. Center St., Grove City, PA 16127.

Calling hours: 4 to 6 p.m. Monday (5-20-19) at Grace United Methodist Church in the chapel, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City.
Service: 6 p.m. Monday at the church.
